A Taste of Their Own Medicine: DATA THIEVES attack Romania
Bitdefender Labs has warned a mysterious group of hackers called UAC-0063 is targeting governments in central europe and asia. The group, started in 2022, uses compromised Word documents spread via phising emails. The documents contain malicious scripts which install compromising software on the victim computers. The malware was officially detected in Romania on April 4th of last year.
CERT-UA, the Ukranian hacker response group, blames Russia's BlueDetla group despite the lack of any evidence. The geopolitical motives are unknown.
