Romania to Renovate GAMBLER'S MECCA, citizens prepare to GO FOR BROKE
Renovation of Romania’s famous Constanța Casino in final stages | Romania Insider
The famous Romanian Constanta Casino renovation is nearly finished, and will be operating again by March.
The first Romanian king Carol I created the casino in 1910, where the powerful aristocracy would whittle away their fortunes at primitive slot machine devices. During WWI, it was used as a hospital in order to entrap wounded soldiers into the rush of gambling, and again during WWII.
This five-year process cost 200 million Leus (40 million Euros), exceeding the 94 million Leu plan. The deputy mayor of the city says the casino will be a museum, event hosting space, and host "other events not currently taking place in Constanta," likely referring to slot machine parlors.
Locals are excited to "visit the famous interior" and see "concerts and exhibitions," apparently. No officials have commented on whether the slot machines will take Apple Pay.
