Romanian President bitterly CLINGS TO POWER despite massive unpopularity
Controversy has once again descended upon President Klaus Iohannis. This time, public ire has been directed at the President over his insistence upon remaining in power until a successor has been elected. In defense of his actions, Iohannis cited the Constitutional Court’s decision to permit him to remain in the office until a victor emerges from the ongoing presidential election campaign.
He has rejected calls to resign despite an abysmal approval rating of 16.2%.
